Ricky was our nephew. He was such a joy as a child to the whole family. Always smiling and having fun with his cousins. We will miss him so much! R.I.P. Sweet Ricky we love you! Uncle Wade and Aunt Carolyn Stapler

My memory of Ricky was that beautiful smile that lit up any room! He had such a warm and loving heart. I'm sad that he's passed, but my heart feels comfort with the belief that he is at sweet rest, and that we will meet again. I love his precious family, Ricky left knowing he was LOVED!

I remember singing with Ricky. We went to Sparkman High School together. I rember Ricky and i were at his house one day and he said you've got to here this new song. It was the first time i had heard Lynard Skynard's Free Bird. I haven't seen you in many years Ricky, but you will be missed

My Late Sister Jari loved to sing with Ricky........they could harmonize so well together.......this is Jari ' s memory and she told this over and over with the same result. ....we laughed till we cried.......Jari had a great sense of humor. On a a fifth Sunday at Elkwood, Jari was seated on the Piano Stool......not looking she leaned down to get her purse trying to be quiet as Brother Jack was up Preaching, She pulls on her purse it didn't move......so she yanked harder......it moved......so she yanks again.....it moves farther......a tap on her shoulder and she looks up and Brother Harold Simmons says, "that is my foot".......as he and Ricky were standing by the Piano.......Jari, red faced whispers, I am so sorry I was trying to get my purse........she looks down and it was not there......... okay now she is beside herself.........course Ricky is looking all innocent...........he let's her panic cause she can not find her purse ..........Jari who normally was calm was frantic.......Ricky and Brother Harold exchange places........Jari is bent over with her hand patting the floor........but it is not there, all the while Brother Jack is Preaching........and my Mother was giving murderous looks at Jari and then at Kristy and me cause we were laughing, we were on the rostrum with a front seat view.......we knew what Ricky was up too.......another tap on her shoulder but this time Jari didn't straighten up, tries to look up and about falls off of the bench.........she rights herself and Ricky whispers, "looking for something?" With a mischievous smile.........Red Faced she is so embarrassed she loudly whispers, "Yes and I can't find it!" So innocent he then asks, "Would this be it?" From behind his back he brings around her black purse. By this time we have totally lost any capability of hearing Brother Jack........he did not know what was taking place as he was in the back Preaching to the lost.........Ricky had a great sense of humor.........there are many memories but none top this!!!!! We are Praying for y'all and we love y'all.
