Richard Lee Denson

Ricky was loved by all who knew him. He leaves behind a multitude of friends and family who remember him for his charming personality. He loved Southern Gospel music and spent his early years singing Lead in Gospel Quartets. Ricky was a huge Alabama Fan and was given his final wish when he was able to watch the first game of the season. After a year's battle with cancer, he passed away Thursday evening while surrounded by his loved ones. Ricky cherished the memories of growing up with cousins, aunts and uncles in the Denson and Wooten families. During the past few weeks, his heart was made happy with all the visits from friends and family......especially, the humor and laughter while talking about childhood events. Thank you to all who took the time to show your love during his final days. He left this world knowing how many people loved him.

He is survived by daughter, Stacie Denson; grandson, Geight Wessel, Madison, AL ; mother and stepfather, Joan and Howard Case, Locust Grove, Ga; brother and sister-n-law, Randy and Annette Denson; nephew, Jacky Denson and niece, Miranda Denson, Hazel Green, Al; stepmother, Carol Richardson, San Diego, CA; Stepdaughter, Jessica Crutcher, Toney, AL ; stepbrother, Linvyl Case and wife, Michelle, McDonough, Ga; stepsister, Janette Cooley and husband, Scott, Scottsboro, AL.

He was preceded in death by father, Kenneth Denson; maternal grandparents, Rev. Willard and Virginia Wooten; paternal grandparents, Rev. Richard (Jack) and Josephine Denson

Visitation will be held at Hazel Green Funeral Home on Saturday from 4 until 8pm. Services will be held at the funeral home chapel on Sunday at 1pm with Rev. Shirley Byrum, Rev. Scott Cooley and Rev. Dwight Willmon officiating. Interment will follow at Elkwood Cemetery.

Pallbearers: Daryl Hill, Todd Hill, Dustin Ross, David Ross, Tim Wooten, Mike Wooten.
