On Saturday April 5, 2020, Tara Satterfield-Franklin went home to be with her Lord and Savior.
Tara was born January 30, 1971 to Lonnie and Carolyn Satterfield of New Market, AL.. Tara married Scott Franklin and raised two beautiful daughters in Athens, AL. After college Tara became a Medical Transcriptionist for the Heart Center of Huntsville Hospital for 16 years.
In her younger years, she was an avid softball player. Her most cherished memories were traveling across the southeast playing in countless softball tournaments with her beloved friends and family. Tara loved to spend time at the beach and trips to the mountains. There was nothing better to Tara than a great family vacation. She was very family oriented and always put family and friends first. She had a kind heart with a witty sense of humor. Her smile always lit up the room.
Tara is survived by her father, Lonnie Satterfield, her mother, Carolyn Satterfield, her husband Scott Franklin, her daughters Brylee Franklin and Trinity Hendrick, her sister, Tammy Satterfield-Bryant and brother-in-law David Bryant, her nephew Garrett Bryant, nieces Chelsi Bryant Wilson and Breanna Bryant; Her dear friend, Susan Smart. Tara was a faithful member of Central Church of Christ in Athens, AL. Tara had a passion for helping those in need. As a member of Central, she volunteered for the outreach program Mission Athens.
The family has planned a drive-in graveside service for Thursday, April 9, 2020 at 2pm at Concord Cemetery in New Market. Friends are invited to attend but in accordance with Alabama law, everyone must remain in their cars. The service will be broadcast via FM Radio so that everyone may listen while remaining inside their automobile. Please leave a condolence for the family on our website at hazelgreenfuneralhome.com.
