Sharron Collier Obituary

Sharron Collier, 75, of New Market, went to be with the Lord on Friday evening.

Sharron was born and raised in the New Market community and was a 1964 graduate of Hazel Green High School.   A hard-working single mom, she worked in accounting with the Huntsville Housing Authority for 42 years and, concurrently, with Walmart for 20 years.

Sharron was a Christian and an example of sacrificial love, giving, and kindness.   Her support and love for her daughter, son-in-law, and her grandchildren was a powerful demonstration of her love for them.  In addition to loving to spend time with her family, she was an avid Alabama football fan and NBA basketball fan.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Maurice & Mary Olive McElyea;  By her brother, Dennis McElyea.

Surviving family members include her daughter and son-in-law, Jamie & Eric Grant;  Her grandchildren:  Destaney Grant, Madison Grant, and Jayden Grant;  Her sister, Rosemary Miller;  Her niece, Nicole Hicks, and her nephew, Brian McElyea.

The family will receive friends on Sunday at 1pm with a Celebration of Life service beginning at 1:30pm at the funeral home.

Hazel Green Funeral Home is honored to serve the family.
