Carl Pack Obituary

Carl R. Pack, 76, of Hazel Green, Al passed away on Friday, April 5, 2019 at Encompass Health and Rehab in Huntsville, Al, while recovering from a short illness.

Carl was born on March 15, 1943 in Guntersville, Al, to Ed and Mamie Anderson Pack.  He was a US Army Veteran and proudly flew the American Flag.  He retired from Motor Pool Operations on Redstone Arsenal in 2013.  He was most happy spending time with his family and friends.  He was an avid reader of western novels, and an Alabama football fan.  To keep himself busy after retirement he taught himself how to build and work on golf carts and stayed busy in his workshop along with his friend Benny.  He made many new friends with his golf cart adventure.  He enjoyed daily breakfasts with his Hazel Green friends at Cassie’s Cafe and his Sunday Morning breakfast friends at Gibson’s Bar-B-Que.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, Bobby Pack and Wallace Pack, his sisters Wanda Jackson and Gaynell Robinson, his brothers in law, Limus Jackson, and Marshall Robinson and his sister in law Louise Pack, along with his favorite fur baby, Tobea.

He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Cynthia Prince Pack, his sons Carlton (Jordan) Pack, Eddie (Sheila) Pack, and Bobby (Tara) Pack, along with eight grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.  He is also survived by his brother Jerry (Simone) Pack, and a special niece and her family, Marsha Kay, Tim, Katie, Samantha, and Timmy Rogers, his in-laws David and Patricia Prince, Brother and Sister-in-law Robert and Laurie Mills, and special niece Aidan Mills, along with a host of other loving family members, including his best friend Benny Pugh and his wife Sue.  He is also survived by his two grand dogs, Aubie and Lola (who he affectionately called Little White Dog).

Visitation will be at Hazel Green Funeral Home on April 13, 2019 from 11am to 2pm.  A private family memorial to scatter his ashes will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to The American Cancer Society or the Clearview Cancer Institute in Huntsville, AL.
