Beverly Watrobski Obituary

Beverly R. Watrobski, 85, formerly of the town of Providence, passed away on Sunday, January 14, 2024 at her daughter’s home in New Market, AL.

She was born in Broadalbin, New York on December 31, 1938, a daughter of Alfred and Lila Donnelly Ferguson and was educated in schools there. Bev lived in Providence for nearly sixty years, before moving to Alabama four years ago.

Mrs. Watrobski was employed in the housekeeping department at St. Mary’s Hospital in Amsterdam for forty years, retiring in 2004.
She enjoyed playing Bingo and loved spending time with family and friends.

Bev was married to Lewis Watrobski in 1970. He died in 2007. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a son, Edwin J. Kronsbein, who died in 1981; two brothers, Charles “Bob” Ferguson and Alfred Ferguson, Jr.; and a sister, Eileen Kondrat.


Survivors include two daughters, Marilyn (Randy) Hodge of New Market, AL and Jackie (Jerry) Lawrence of Gloversville; two stepchildren, Patricia Watrobski of Broadalbin and John Watrobski of Wagoner, OK; two brothers, Richard (Peggy) Ferguson of Galway and Roger (Pat) Ferguson of Broadalbin; a sister, Shirley Mickan of Broadalbin; eight grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, February 2, 2024, from 2 -4 pm at the Robert M. Halgas Funeral Home, Inc. 111 County Highway 106 (Corner of Route 29 & Black Street), Johnstown followed by a funeral service at 4pm at the funeral home with Rev. Linda Harblin, officiating.

Burial will be in Broadalbin-Mayfield Rural Cemetery in the spring. Memorial contributions may be made to Amedysis Hospice Care or to the Alzheimer’s Assoc., in care of the Halgas Funeral Home.
