William H. Turner

William Turner of Hazel Green went to be with the Lord on Monday while surrounded by his loving family. He was 85.

Mr. Turner had retired from Kroger after 40 years of employment. He was a loving husband and father who enjoyed spending time with his family. A faithful Christian, he was an active member of Journey Church and he loved Alabama football, Southern gospel music, and was an avid golfer.

He was preceded in death by his wife in 2023, Vera Turner; his sister, Lena Poole.

Surviving family members include his daughter and son-in-law, Jedonna & Randy Whitten; his grandson, Caleb (Hannah) Whitten; his great-grandchildren: Selah and Noah Whitten. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, August 1, 2026 from 11am until 1pm at Hazel Green Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 1pm at the funeral home with Pastor Scott Lowery officiating. Burial will be a later time in Littleville, Alabama.
