Wanda Neely

Wanda Neely of New Market passed away on Sunday evening. She was 80. She was a devoted wife and mother and enjoyed helping her son at his business.

Mrs. Neely was a believer and attended the Concord Cumberland Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed bowling, Atlanta Braves Baseball, game shows, cheering for her son and grandson at the race track, and was a passionate Elvis fan.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Neely, her two brothers, Hulan Knight and Olan Knight, her grandson, Brandon Guthrie, and her parents, Delbert & Bertha Knight.

Surviving family members include her son and daughter-in-law, Michael & Karen Neely; her daughter and son-in-law, Lynn & Keith Guthrie; her grandchildren: Colby Guthrie (Holly Riddle), Kylie Guthrie, Kirsty Neely, and Colin Neely; her great-granddaughter, Aubrey Kate Guthrie.

The family will receive friends on Thursday from 6pm until 8pm at Hazel Green Funeral Home. Funeral services will be on Friday at 2pm at the funeral home with Brother Robert Sharp officiating. Burial will follow in Concord Cemetery with Brother Ray Gardner officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to your favorite hospice agency.
