Vicky Harlston Strickland

Obituary provided by the Strickland family......

Vicky Harlston Strickland, age 69, went to be with her Lord and loved ones on 6 November 2026, passing away peacefully at her home in New Market, Alabama.

Vicky was born on March 10, 1957. A lifelong resident of the area, she was a business owner, a collector of oddities, and above all a creator of great memories. Her vibrant spirit and unique passions touched everyone who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jim Strickland; her sister, Lisa Harlston; her parents, Bill Harlston and Montez Moore; and her brothers, Jeff Harlston and Darrell Brady.

Vicky is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Analita Coffey; her cousin and dear friend, Brenda Mann; and her sisters-in-law, Suzi Harlston and Darlene Fambro (Jerry Haynes).

She leaves behind an extraordinary circle of special friends who were like family to her: Frankie Delacruz, Shay Yunqun, Kelley Brooks, Aprill Murdock, Trina Stewart, Jesica Brady, Scottie Burnett, and many more. To those who shared in her life, the family wishes to share this message from Vicky: The absence of your name here does not erode the love she held in her heart for each and every one of you.

Funeral services will be held at Hazel Green Funeral Home on Sunday, November 8, at 1 PM, with Pastor Benny Berry officiating. The family will begin receiving friends at 11 AM. Following the ceremony, a brief committal service will be reserved for close friends and family to lay Vicky to rest alongside her beloved husband and sister.

Please - no flowers but if you desire make a donation to a local church, shelter or needy family.
