Vicki Elaine Long

Vicki Elaine Long, 75, of New Market, Alabama, passed away on November 9, 2025. She was born on September 7, 1950, to the late George and Mary Frances Green.

Vicki was a devoted wife of 56 years. She loved being a stay at home mom and raising her family. As grandchildren and great grandchildren came into the family, that brought her even greater joy. After raising her family, Vicki began a career in home health caring for many elderly patients. Her empathy and compassion were felt among many of the families she served over the years.

She loved her pet cats as well as enjoying the hummingbirds come and go with the seasons.

Vicki is survived by her children, Dan (Shelia) Long Jr. and Melissa King; grandchildren, Matthew (Haley) Long, Michelle (Chez) Quesnell, Bree (Alex) Gipson, Amanda (Ben) Childers, and Caitlin (Zach) King; seven great-grandchildren; and sisters, Mary Kelly and Kaye Harbin. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Dan Monroe Long, two brothers, and one sister.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Hazel Green Funeral Home. In accordance with her wishes there will be no formal memorial service held.
