Tony Darnell Wilson was born on January 1, 1956 in Woodbury, TN with a silver spoon, as he was the first child born during the New Year. He passed away in his sleep on May 3, 2026 in Elora, TN. Tony was a kind soul who would literally give someone his last dollar or the shirt off his back.

He loved music, loved listening to it, and loved to share how to make a worn out guitar sound halfway decent.

He married Tina Yell in 1973, and was married for more than 20 years. He worked many years in manufacturing and precision plating. He also pulled a lot of transmissions for his father-in-law, Carl "Buck" Yell. Despite being a hardworking man, he still would have rather been playing music somewhere.

He was a jack of many trades and always overthought every detail. He would plan a trip to town where he would only have to make right hand turns, loved to rearrange his furniture, and would put his shoes on during bad weather. He loved to play the lottery and, more than anything, he loved his family.

Tony was preceded in death by his parents William Jasper and Mary Lucille Wilson, his brothers and sisters Lois O’Dear-Lewis, Cecil Wilson, Pat Wilson, Jean Thomas, Pearl Campbell, Charlie Wilson, Brenda Farless, and his grandson Caleb Bates.

Surviving family members include his son, - Mari (Gwen) Wilson, daughter Darla (Steve) Bates, and his grandchildren: Gracie and Noah Wilson, and Ethan Bates.

Funeral services will be Saturday at 12pm at Hazel Green Funeral Home with Pastor Cleo Moon officiating. Burial will follow the service and will be in Miller Cemetery. The family will receive friends beginning at 11am.
