Tommy Gay, a gifted home builder and a part of the Hazel Green community, passed away on May 2, 2025, at the age of 62 in Huntsville, Alabama. Born on October 25, 1962, Tommy dedicated his career to the construction industry, where he owned his own construction business and built many homes in the area.

Tommy was quiet and thoughtful and loved sarcasm. His family meant everything to him and he loved being a husband, father, and grandfather. He leaves behind his loving wife of 41 years, Lisa Gay; his daughter and son-in-law, Samantha and Jay Apodaca; his sons, Matthew Gay and Nathaniel Gay; and his cherished grandchildren, Blake Apodaca, Carter Apodaca, and Addyson Apodaca.

Tommy is also survived by his sister, Dee "Peanut" Nash; his niece, Candy Keane; his step-father, Earnest Coffman; his step-sisters, Brandy Coffman and Tammy Coffman; along with several nieces, nephews, and many friends who will fondly remember him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Gwendolyn Coffman and C.L. Gay.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Tommy's life at a visitation on May 8, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, followed by a Celebration of Life at 4:00 PM. Both events will take place at Hazel Green Funeral Home, located at 13921 Hwy 231-431 N, Hazel Green, AL, 35750.  There will be a reception for everyone at the family home following the Celebration of Life Service.

A Note From The Family:

In Loving Memory of Thomas Gay

As we navigate this unexpected loss, we are humbled by the love and support from our family and friends. In lieu of flowers, we kindly invite those who feel led—to contribute towards funeral and living expenses during this difficult time.
