Mrs. Tammie Renet' Wallace of Hazel Green, Alabama, went to be with the Lord on Saturday. She was 65.
Mrs. Wallace was an avid baker who loved to make cookies, peanut butter Rice Krispies, and pies. She loved her family, especially her grandkids, whom she would play cards and board games with any chance she got. She served as a substitute teacher for Madison County Schools for 20 years. Mrs. Wallace was a kind person with a generous, selfless heart. She always thought of others before herself, which was evident in her love of teaching.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Dan Jackson and Kathleen Bates; her father-in-law, John Edward Wallace Jr.; her stepsister, Ramona; her brother-in-law, Austin Earl Wallace; and her brother, Dwayne Jackson.
Surviving family includes her husband of 46 years, J.R. Wallace; her children, James Wallace Jr. (Susan) and Danielle Childress; her grandchildren, Xavier Childress, Faith Wallace, Kya Childress, James Wallace III, and Sydni Hay; and her stepmother, Janice Jackson. She is also survived by many other family members and friends.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 18, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Hazel Green Funeral Home. The funeral service will be on Wednesday, August 19, at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel, with Pastor Brad Williams and Pastor Bobby Eads officiating. Burial will follow in Planview Cemetery.
