Sue Moore

Janice Sue Moore of New Market passed away on Thursday morning. She was 77. Mrs. Moore was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and sister and was a faithful member of the Mountain View Free Holiness Church.

Mrs. Moore had a heart full of love for everyone around her. She was an encourager who was kind and selfless which made other people love being around her. She was an amazingly gifted cook and enjoyed feeding those she loved, but she will be forever remembered for her phenomenal hugs.

She was preceded in death by her husband of almost 50 years, Dickey Ray Moore; her son, Victor Ray Moore; her brother, Ira Thomas "Tommy" Howard; her son-in-law, Troy Priest.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory: her daughter, Janet Moore Priest; her daughter and son-in-law, Kerri & Jerry Hill; her daughter-in-law, Dana Moore; her grandchildren: Skyler Barnett (Jordan), Jordan Moore (Jensen), Miranda Wright (Jacob), Jolie Long (Andrew), Sophie Clark (Carter), Anna Middlebrooks (Clay), Mady Mahathey (Evan), Brody Hill, and 10 great-grandchildren; her sister, Janie Lou Miller; her brother, James Marvin Howard (Mary); her special sister-in-law, Barbara Durham Davis; she is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and her church family.

The family will receive friends on Friday from 5pm until 8pm at Mountain View Free Holiness Church. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 1pm at the church with Reverend Bruce Brazier, Brother Randy Brazier, and Brother Jason Shockley officiating. After the service, a committal service will follow in Britton Cemetery.
