Shelia Taylor Flynt Gurley of Hazel Green passed away on Friday. She was 68. Shelia was a graduate of Hazel Green High School and a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church. She was one of the first few female professional truck drivers in Madison County and had driven for many years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James K. & Reva Taylor and by her brother, James Allen "Bubba" Taylor.

Surviving family members include her children, Maranda Flynt (Larry Beard), Jessica Gurley (Dennis Taylor), and Anna Gurley; her grandchildren: Deven Beard (Danielle Thompson), Alexus Beard (Blake League), Madison Stewart Townsend (Christopher), Dakota Woods (Coltin Griffith), Levi Gurley; her great-grandchildren: Lake-Leigh Hale, Oakley Beard, Deven Chevelle Beard, Ryder Beard, and Dayson Taylor League.; her sisters, Janice Bates and Mozell Painter; she is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and many friends.

The family will receive friends on Monday evening from 6pm until 8pm at Hazel Green Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 2pm at the funeral home with Pastor Lon Ostrzycki officiating. Burial will then be in New Sharon Cemetery.
