Ricky Beshears, 68, passed away peacefully in his sleep on January 24, 2026 after a valiant battle with cancer. In spite of the sleet and snow, he was surrounded by friends and family during his final hours. Mr. Beshears had proudly served in the United States Marines.

Ricky was a hard worker who took great pride in providing for his family, whether on a job site or working with his hands in his garden. Though he left school in the ninth grade, he went on to build a successful business, earning the loyalty and respect of countless customers who will miss him greatly.

He was a true connoisseur of beer, bourbon, and Little Debbie’s, and he enjoyed watching B-list movies from his garage stool. Most would say Ricky was everyone’s favorite grump — but also their first call. Quiet in a crowd, he was insightful, thoughtful, and an A-class storyteller to those who knew him best.

He will be deeply missed by his wife, Leigh Beshears; his daughter, Caitlin DeLoach; his son, Kyle Beshears; his son-in-law, Brian DeLoach; his daughter-in-law, Jordan Beshears; and his brothers, Steve Beshears and Gary Beshears. He also leaves behind many friends and extended family who loved him very much.

Visitation with the family will begin at 5pm on Friday at Hazel Green Funeral Home. Funeral services with Pastor Lon Ostrzycki officiating and military honors will follow at 6pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Ricky’s memory.

Hazel Green Funeral Home is honored to serve the family.
