Richard Shane Phelps

On December 15, 2017, Richard "Shane" Phelps passed away after a sudden and brief illness, at the age of 45. He was able to be in the comfort of his home surrounded by his loving family.

Shane was a graduate of Madison Academy. It was there that he played football and met a cheerleader, his high school sweetheart and the love of his life, Hydi Ellett Phelps. He graduated from Calhoun in 2003 and he enjoyed serving others through his career as a sales consultant with Banks Industries Incorporated.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his three greatest accomplishments: Allyson Shae, April Ellett, and Ashlyn Reaganrose Phelps. He is also survived by his parents Dick and Betty Phelps, two sisters Karen (Al) Apice, Lisa (Terry) McGill, all of his in-laws, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and numerous friends, as Shane became friends with everyone he met.

The family will receive friends on Monday, December 18, at Meridianville Church of Christ from 5-8pm. A Celebration of Life will be held at noon on Tuesday, December 19 at Meridianville Church of Christ with Bro. Lonnie Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Huntsville Memory Gardens at 6810 University Dr. in Huntsville.
