Phillip Larry Moon, born September 2, 1966 in Huntsville passed away at his home in Ardmore, TN.
His dry humor and love for all things Three Stooges, University of Alabama sports, especially football, his precious fur babies, and his family will be forever in our memories. He was the light of holiday get-togethers, working hard to beat anyone who dared play him in board and card games, and telling stories of days gone by with his usual flair, having the entire room crying with laughter.
Phillip could quote scenes from movies and sports statistics. He loved history, studying World War 2 in particular, was a math whiz, and enjoyed reading, especially Stephen King.
While leading a mostly solitary life, his greatest love was for his fur babies. Often having several dogs at a time as opposed to just one. After the last group of four passed, he was only planning to get one because the pain of losing them was too much. He stuck to that plan for about a week, as he couldn’t pass up the other two he saw offered at a pet store. He then said he couldn’t go to any more pet stores, too much temptation for his soft heart. They began getting older as well with the last one passing in February of this year. Their ashes will join his burial at a later date.
Phillip is preceded in death by his father, Larry Moon, grandparents, and his most recent fur babies, Corky, Oscar, and Floyd.
Phillip is survived by his mother, Brenda Ledbetter, his sister Michelle Speck (John) along with a large extended family including nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.
He will be missed.
