Peggy Ann Dutton Lasater, age 76 of Hazel Green, Alabama, passed away peacefully at her home on February 19, 2026. She was born on January 8, 1950, in Lawrence County, Alabama, and was a proud graduate of Lawrence County High School, Class of 1968.

As a young woman, Peggy moved to Huntsville, where she met the love of her life, Carroll Lasater. The two shared 45 years of marriage, building a life centered on faith, family, and devotion to one another.

Peggy was a member of Genesis Church in Hazel Green and was a devoted Christian who found joy in serving the Lord with her time and talents. She had a kind and giving spirit and will be remembered for her quiet strength, her faith, and the love she shared with those around her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Aaron and Wylodean Dutton, and her sister, Sandra Shankle.

She is survived by her loving husband, Carroll Lasater; her daughters, Deana (Lee) Sublett and Malone Lasater Bales; her cherished granddaughters, Kennedy Sublett and Harper Bales; her sisters, Shelby Gipson, Donna Dutton, and Linda Clark; her brothers, Elgin Dutton, Elton Dutton, and Alton Dutton; along with many extended family members and friends.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to Laura Sims, Brenda Saffrahn, and the entire team of caregivers who provided compassionate care and support to Peggy during her battle with ALS (Lou Gehrig’s Disease).

Funeral services will be held on Monday at 3:00 PM at Hazel Green Funeral Home with Pastor Tony Hardiman officiating. The family will receive friends beginning at 1:00 PM, also at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Charity Cemetery.
