Paul James Olson

We are heartbroken to announce the sudden and tragic passing of Paul James Olson on July 11th, 2025 at the age of 35.  

Paul was born on April 18, 1990 in Bismarck, North Dakota.  He grew up with his older brothers in Mandan, North Dakota before moving to Huntsville, Alabama in 2006.  

Paul was preceded in death by his father Daniel Olson Sr. and his brother Daniel Olson Jr.

He is survived by his mother, Sandra Erhardt; his brother and sister-in-law, Joe and Aly Olson and their children, Daniel, Sophia and Maxwell Olson; and a wide circle of extended family and friends.

He was passionate about the outdoors and loved fishing, hunting, camping and kayaking.  He also loved animals, with his latest job being at a local animal shelter.  He was a kind and generous soul and his presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

A memorial service will be held at Hazel Green Funeral Home on Friday, July 25, 2025.  Visitation with the family will begin at 10:00 am and the Memorial service will follow at 11:00 AM.  Afterwards the family will hold a private committal service to place Paul's cremated remains to rest at Valhalla Memory Gardens.  The family will then gather at Back Forty on Leeman Ferry Road to celebrate Paul's life at approximately 2:00 PM.
