Patricia Annetta Duncan McFarlen, age 80, of Huntsville, Alabama, passed away peacefully on April 6, 2025, surrounded by her family.

Born on July 27, 1944, to Roy Willis Duncan and Annie McCormack Duncan, Annetta was a lifelong resident of Alabama and a proud retiree of the Madison County School System. A woman of quiet strength and deep faith, she was a devoted member of Plainview Church of Christ, where her gentle spirit and compassionate heart touched many lives.

Annetta was affectionately known by many names including Mom, Aunt Netta, Mammaw, and Mrs. Mac—each one a reflection of the many lives she nurtured, taught, and loved so well. She was a devoted follower of Christ, whose life was a true testament to faith, grace, and unwavering love. She was known for her kind heart, loving nature, and steadfast dedication to her family and friends.

She is survived by her beloved children: daughters Gwen Perry (Jeff), Jan Jones (Decon), Bambi McGaha (Colt), and sons Kenneth McFarlen (Leigh Ann) and Michael McFarlen (Dawn). Annetta was a cherished grandmother to Austin Jennings-Ralph, Danna Hayes, Jessica Bryant, Morgan McFarlen, Sarah Simmons, Wilson Brannon, Natalee Kiker, Noah McFarlen, Kinsley McFarlen, Anniston McFarlen, Nikki Howell, and Justin Howell. She is survived as well by her sister Phyllis Proehl of Pennsylvania.  She also leaves behind eight precious great-grandchildren, along with countless nieces and nephews who adored her dearly. Annetta also leaves behind her constant companion, Honey. She dearly loved her little fur babies.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy Duncan and Annie Seaton; her brother, Alton Duncan; her sister, Sherry Howell; and her beloved son, Benjimen Howell. She was also preceded in death by a couple of her favorite fur babies, Taz and Polly.

Annetta’s legacy is one of love, service, and faith. She will be deeply missed but forever remembered by all who had the honor of knowing her.

The family will receive friends at Plainview Church Of Christ on April 9, 2025 from 11:00AM - 2:00PM Funeral services will be at 2:00PM on April 9, 2025 at Plainview Church Of Christ with her sons Michael McFarlen and Kenneth McFarlen officiating. Interment will be at Valhalla Memory Gardens.
