Oneita Marlene Bowlen

Oneita Marlene Bowlen, 88, of New Market, Alabama, formerly of New Palestine, Indiana, went home to be with our Lord on Friday, May 8, 2026.

Born on August 3, 1937, in Greene County, Indiana, Oneita was the daughter of Gerald Dexter Stephen and Zoethel Mae Quimby Stephen. She was a faithful member of New Palestine Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and was active for many years with the Order of the Eastern Star.

Oneita was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who deeply loved her family. She also worked as a Mary Kay consultant for more than 40 years and enjoyed the many friendships she made through the years.

She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Kevin and Merrie Bowlen, Barry and Lynnette Bowlen, and Jay and Sheri Bowlen; grandchildren: Amanda, Laura, Carrie, Greg, Andrea, Thomas, Eric, Jesse, and Alex; great-grandchildren: Ashton, Ava, Aleah, Isabella, Thomas, Leland, Emilia, Oliver, and Theodore; and many dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Phillip Eugene Bolin; and her parents, Gerald Dexter Stephen and Zoethel Mae Quimby Stephen.

The family would like to thank Jeana Kippes and Affinity Hospice for their compassionate care and support.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date in Indiana.
