Mike Allen Patterson Sr.

Mr. Mike Allen Patterson Sr., of Hazel Green, Alabama, passed away Saturday. He was 64.

Mike loved to fish and ride around in his truck and on his 4-wheeler. He enjoyed trains and keeping up with the weather and meteorology. He was a government-certified welder for 28 years. Mike was a Christian and attended Charity Baptist Church. Mr. Patterson will be remembered for his love for his family, especially his great-grandchildren.

Mr. Patterson was preceded in death by his parents, Orris Sr. and Frances Patterson; his son, Michael Allen Patterson Jr.; and his grandparents, Clyde and Lena Mae Patterson and Zana Lee Franklin.

Surviving family includes his grandchildren, Brandon Patterson (Kristen) and Kylee Patterson; his great-grandchildren, Novalee, Brody, Cooper, Matilyn, Michael, and Kyndall; his brother, Joey Patterson; his nephew, Trey Patterson (Kim); his great-nephews, Jack and Joseph Patterson; and the mother of his child, Patricia Campbell. He is also survived by many other family members and friends.

Pallbearers will be Brandon Patterson, Jack Patterson, Joseph Patterson, Jay Johnson, Jesse Johnson, Ricky Adams, Lance Adams, and Joey Hall. Honorary pallbearers are Carey Patterson, Brad Hicks, and David Jones.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 29, from 12 p.m. until 2 p.m., with the funeral service immediately following at Hazel Green Funeral Home with Pastor Mike Jerome and Pastor Lon Ostrzycki officiating. Burial will follow in New Sharon Cemetery.

The family would like to extend special thanks to Hospice of North Alabama and his nurse, Kelsey, for their care during this difficult time.
