Mary Marie Allison

Mary Marie Allison, age 80, of Meridianville, Alabama, was welcomed into the presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on August 7, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. Born on November 23, 1945, in Moore County, Tennessee, Marie lived a life marked by unwavering faith, selfless love, and joyful service to others.

Marie was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She was a faithful member of Elkwood Free Holiness Church, where her love for the Lord was evident in both her words and her actions.

She shared 60 wonderful years of marriage with her beloved husband, James "Joe" Allison. Together they built a home centered on faith, love, and family. She was a loving mother to Pat (Mary Beth) Allison and Todd (Aimee) Allison and a proud grandmother to Carolina (Arian) Jahandarfard, Hagen Allison, Ethan Allison, and Alana Allison. Her family was her greatest earthly joy, and she faithfully supported them through countless prayers, unconditional love, and quiet acts of service.

Marie was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Mary Lou McCormick; her brother, Jesse McCormick; and her sisters, Martha Moore, Lela Mae Jolley, and Ann Kelley.

She is lovingly remembered by her brothers, Earl McCormick and Ray McCormick; her sister, Della Jolley; and many cherished nieces, nephews, extended family members, lifelong friends, and her church family.

A graduate of Flintville High School in Flintville, Tennessee, Marie enjoyed a career as a cake decorator, first with Sam's Club and later retiring from Walmart. She was known for her remarkable creativity and artistic talent, designing beautiful cakes that became the centerpiece of birthdays, weddings, anniversaries, and countless family celebrations. Every cake she created reflected the same care, patience, and love that defined her life.

More than any accomplishment, Marie desired to serve the Lord. She was a woman of prayer whose faith never wavered through life's joys or trials. Her gentle spirit,servant's heart, and unwavering confidence in God's promises left an enduring mark on all who knew her. She leaves behind a legacy of faith, grace, love, and the undeniable power of prayer that will continue to inspire her family for generations. 

Although her family grieves the loss of her earthly presence, they rejoice in the assurance that she is forever healed and at peace in the presence of her Savior. Surely, she has heard the words, "Well done, good and faithful servant." As the Apostle Paul declared, "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith." Marie will be deeply missed by her family, church family, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her life was a testimony to God's faithfulness, and the love she shared will continue to live on in the hearts of those she leaves behind.

The Family will receive friends on Monday, August 10, from 12 p.m. until 2 p.m. at Hazel Green Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Royce Estes and Bro. Eric Scott officiating. Burial Will Follow In Elkwood Cemetery.
