Lucy V Brady

Mrs. Lucy Smithey Brady of New Market passed away on Tuesday. She was 96. She was born and raised and lived her entire life in New Market. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother and was kind to everyone. Mrs. Brady was a Christian and a member of Home Mission Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Billy Joe Brady; by her parents, Joe Willie Smithey and Lula Mae Edwards Smithey; her sisters, Virginia Childers and Merle Ward; her brothers: Early Smithey and Desso Smithey.

Surviving family members include her son, Jeffery Brady; her daughter, Pam Brady Miller; She is also survived by her 7 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren and by her sister, Linda McGrath (Butch).

The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 5pm until 8pm at Hazel Green Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Saturday at 11am at the funeral home with Brother Frankie Osmer officiating. Burial will then be in Taylor Cemetery.
