Linda Gail Blizzard

Linda Gail Bates Blizzard of New Market passed away on Friday evening. She was 61. Mrs. Blizzard lived her entire life in the New Market community and attended New Market and Buckhorn Schools.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Bill & Isabelle Bates, and Joy Standifer and by her brothers, Billy Bates and Danny Cagle.

Surviving family members include her husband, Brian Blizzard; her daughter, Valerie McBay (Ryan Haase); her son, Eric Schmitt; her two step-sons, Troy and Tyler Blizzard; her grandchildren: Aubrey Schmitt and Lucas Schmitt; her brothers: Lee Bates, Tommy Bates, Larry Cagle, and Rodney Thompson; her sisters, Carol Williams, Veronica Dawson, and Cynthia Thompson. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 10am until 11am on Wednesday. A graveside funeral service will follow at 11:30am at Macedonia Cemetery with Brother David Helton officiating. 

Linda loved Alabama football and NASCAR and the family would love for guests to wear their favorite Bama or NASCAR gear on Wednesday.
