Kim Norton of Hazel Green, Alabama, went to be with the Lord on Thursday morning while surrounded by her loving family. She was 85 and was a faithful follower of Jesus and a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church.

Kim was actively involved in serving the Lord and those around her. She participated in the widows ministry, Sunday School, children’s choir, and Vacation Bible School (VBS), where she served as both a volunteer and director. She also served her community through The Caring Link and supported local schools through Lunches of Love.

She enjoyed the beach and crabbing, traveling, gardening, and dearly loved her family, whom she prayed for daily.

Kim demonstrated her love for her husband, Orea, by lovingly caring for him before his passing in 2017.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Orea Allen Norton Sr.; her parents, Lance Jones and Eileen Benefield; her grandparents, who lovingly cared for her and her sister—grandmother, Aileen Winifred Saunders Jones, and grandfather, William Franklin Jones; her aunt, Lucy Maude Saunders; and her brother, Mark Benefield.

Surviving family members include her children and their spouses: Orea Allen “Al” Norton Jr. (Cindy), Susan Ostrzycki (Lon), Barbara Tanner (David), and Mary Beth Woodall (Joseph); her sixteen grandchildren: Alan Ostrzycki, Rachel Norton, Lisa Crowder, Tim Norton, Daniel Norton, Grady Norton, Sharon Barham, Simon Norton, Joel Norton, Joy Norton, Stephen Norton, Hannah Norton, Lilly Fogg, Harley Tanner, Jake Tanner, and Luke Woodall; 36 great-grandchildren; and her sisters, Carol Pierce, Marsha Cruce, and Cherie Chapman.

The family will receive friends on Saturday from 12:00 p.m. until the time of the service at 2:00 p.m. at Bethlehem Baptist Church. Pastor Lon Ostrzycki, Pastor Alan Ostrzycki, and Pastor Al Norton will officiate. Burial will follow the church service at Charity Cemetery.
