Listen to Obituary

Kenneth Sparks, a lifelong resident of Madison County, was born on July 23, 1937 to the late Viola and Dillon Sparks. He lived a life rooted in hard work, family, and simple joys, leaving behind a legacy of love and quiet strength.

Kenneth married the love of his life, Dorothy, on May 23, 1960. Together, they built a life centered on family, faith, and devotion, sharing many years of marriage and memories.

A dedicated construction worker by trade, Kenneth was known for his strong work ethic and willingness to do a job right. Outside of work, he found happiness in the things he loved most. He was a devoted Alabama football fan. In his younger years, he especially enjoyed coon hunting and fishing - pastimes that brought him closer to the outdoors.

Kenneth also appreciated life's quieter moments. He loved a good cup of coffee and cherished time at home. His house was often filled with laughter and life, welcoming grandchildren and great-grandchildren who gathered there regularly. When the house grew full and lively, Kenneth could often be found retreating to his bedroom, enjoying a bit of well-earned peace and quiet.

Kenneth went to be with his Lord and Savior early on the morning of January 11, 2026. Heaven is where he reunited with his parents, Viola and Dillon Sparks, his children - Connie Johnson, Terry Sparks, Lisa Maples, and Wayne Sparks, his granddaughter, Stacy Webster and his siblings.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Sparks; his daughter, Kelly Geiger (Bri Geiger); his grandchildren: Stephanie Vickers (Allen), Courtney Hall (Jon), Nicole Sparks, Eric Maples, and Conner Sparks, as well as many great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Saturday from 12pm until the service begins at 2:30pm at Hazel Green Funeral Home. Burial will follow the chapel service and will be in New Sharon Cemetery.

Mr. Sparks will be remembered for his steady presence, his love for family, and the simple, meaningful life he lived. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Hazel Green Funeral Home is honored to serve the family.
