Jimmy Dwight Stephenson

Jimmy Dwight Stephenson, 78, of Hazel Green, Alabama, passed away at his home on September 25, 2026. He was born on May 28, 1948, in Russellville, Alabama, to the late Elton and Mary Stephenson.

Jim graduated from Lee High School and proudly served his country in the United States Army and was a disabled Vietnam Veteran.

Jim is survived by his son, Chris Stephenson and wife, Ashley; his daughter, Leah Stephenson Travis and husband, Greg; grandchildren Bryce, Brooke, Carly, and Chandler; his sister, Sandra Presley; niece, Lisa Cook; nephew, Mark Presley; and his extended family.

Jim was preceded in death by the mother of his children, Caroline Elaine Coe Stephenson, and his wife, Sue Gardner Stephenson.

The families of Jim and Sue will receive friends on Tuesday evening, September 29, 2026 from 5pm until 7pm at Hazel Green Funeral Home. A graveside funeral service celebrating Jim's life will be Wednesday, September 30, 2026 at 10am at Valhalla Memory Gardens.
