Jimmy Tyra Calhoun

Jimmy Tyra Calhoun, of Hazel Green, Alabama, passed away on September 3, 2026. He was born October 25, 1944. He will be remembered for his 21 years of service in the United States Air Force. He also worked for the Department of Defense for 22 years. Mr. Jimmy loved to read and strategize. He enjoyed watching the Atlanta Braves and was a fan of Auburn University. Mr. Jimmy was a good man who would give someone the shirt off his back. He loved his family and will be greatly missed.

He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Nancy Calhoun; and his brother, John Kimble "Kim" Calhoun.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Rosalie Calhoun; his son, John Calhoun; his daughter, Nancy Calhoun; his grandson, Robert Porter Threm; his brother, Douglas Craig Calhoun; and his sisters, Lynn Calhoun and Jean Mitchler. He is also survived by numerous extended family members.
