Jerry Lee Butler was born to Lee Butler and Mary Elizabeth Butler into a family of 13 children in Conway, South Carolina.  He served for 30 years in the United States Army - from 1979 to 2008.   He received the Meritorious Service Medal (6th Award).

He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Anneliese Butler, by his sons, Christopher Butler, Nikolaus Butler, and by his grandchildren, Xavier Lee Butler and Ella Marie Butler.

The family will receive friends on Friday evening, January 6th, 2017, from 6 to 8pm at Hazel Green Funeral Home.   Funeral services will be Saturday, January 7th at 11am the funeral home.  Burial will then follow in Lincoln Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Wounded Warrior Project or to cancer research in Jerry's name.

Following the service and committal at Lincoln Cemetery, there will be a celebration of life at Jerry's home located at 104 Green Glen Court, Harvest, Al  35749.
