Jean Pigg

Mrs. Jean Pigg of Hazel Green went to be with the Lord on Thursday. She was 78. Jean was born and raised in the Walnut Grove community and graduated from Hazel Green High School. She had retired from the Chrysler Corporation and was a member of the Pleasant Home Baptist Church in Toney.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Goldie Pigg, in 2024; by her parents, Lawrence Eddie Myers and Jimmie Lee Satterfield Myers; her siblings: Calvin Myers, Dwayne Myers, Carolyn Myers, Shirley Clutts, and Larry Myers; her favorite niece, Jenny Clutts.

Surviving family members include her daughter and son-in-law, Teresa and Eddie Moore; her grandsons: Stephen Moore (Winter Schwartz) and Heath VanMarter and his husband, Neal VanMarter; her great-grandchildren: Jayda, Autumn and Olivia Schwartz; her great-great grandchild: Beverly Shelton; her sister and brother-in-law, Martha & Harold McLaughlin; her brother, Terry Myers; favorite nieces, Gail Luna, Kristi Myers, and Jennifer Cornell; Nana's babies: Allie Beth Boyett, Zoey Boyett, Reagan Boyett, Cole Boyett, Cloi Smartt and Braden Smartt, Brett Britton, Russel Britton, Alyssa Harrell, Courtney Watson, and Laney Cornell.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, July 25, 2026 from 11am until 2pm at Hazel Green Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 2pm at the funeral home with Pastor Rickey Hamilton officiating. Burial will then be in Bevill's Cemetery.
