Jean (Kimbrough) Jones
April 17, 1936 — October 18, 2023
Jean Kimbrough Jones of Birmingham, originally of Hazel Green, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday. She was 87. Jean was an avid Alabama football fan and had a special place in her heart for animals.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert H. Jones; Her parents: Oscar Kimbrough & Lucille Kimbrough Damron; Her brother: W.J. Kimbrough; Her sister: Jerome Kimbrough Clements.
Surviving family members include her daughter, Anita Jones of Birmingham; Her sisters, Sybil Douglas and Nelda Patterson, both of Hazel Green; Two sisters-in-law: Ruth Swift and Mary Williams, both of Toney; She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 12pm until 1pm at Hazel Green Funeral Home. A graveside service will follow at 1:30pm at New Sharon Cemetery with Pastor Mike McFarlen officiating. Pallbearers will be John Byrd, Tony Douglas, Mike Bates, Brian Nowakowaski, Daniel Douglas, and Ben Swift.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to The Humane Society or your favorite charity.
