Funeral services for J C Echols age 86 of the Plevna community will be conducted Sunday 2:30PM at Oakley Baptist Church with Joe Echols and Jeff Hatcher officiating. Burial will be in Miller Cemetery. Mr. Echols was a faithful member of Oakley Baptist Church for over 50 years and owned and operated Echols Grocery in Plevna for many years.
He is survived by his wife, Geraldine Carver Echols; His children, Cindy Echols, Loretta and Jeff Hatcher, Joe and Denice Echols and Tim “Spanky” Echols; His sister, Barbara Brooks and one brother, Edward “Buddy” and Barbara Echols; His grandchildren: Charis Hatcher, Alyssa Hatcher, Erin Hatcher and Joy Echols along with a host of loving family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clayton and Jalla Scivally Echols, by one brother, Tom Echols, and one sister, Geraldine Lancaster.
The family will begin receiving friends at 1:00PM at the church.
