Carolyn Jane "Janie" Riggins, age 62, passed away on Tuesday, September 29, 2026.
Janie was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend whose family meant the world to her. She especially adored her children and grandchildren and loved them more deeply than words could ever express. Janie had a feisty and bold personality and was never afraid to be herself. Those who knew her will remember the love she had for her family as well as the spirited personality that made her uniquely Janie.
She enjoyed cheering on Alabama football, watching NASCAR and especially Dale Earnhardt, playing bingo, and making trips to the casino. Janie also enjoyed creating diamond art paintings. She loved her dog, Roxy, who held a very special place in her heart.
Janie was preceded in death by her father, James Edward Riggins; her mother, Carolyn Faye Shaneyfelt; her brothers, Jimmy Lee Riggins and Paul Eugene Riggins; and her granddaughter, Layla Riggins.
She is survived by her son, Anthony Riggins and his wife, Stacy, and their children, Mikayla Riggins and Kloie Riggins; her daughter, Kim Mason and her husband, Ricky, and their children, Alex Mason, Autumn Mason, Marc Mason, Trey Mason, and Brayden Mason; her sisters, Angie O’Keefe, Charlotte Stafford, and Barbara Rodriguez; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family members whom she dearly loved.
