James Phillips Jr.August 24, 1960 ~ January 14, 2011Mr. James Phillips Jr., 50, of Hazel Green, passed away on Friday at a local hospital. Mr. Phillips had served for a number of years in the Army National Guard. He was employed by Pepper Trucking, and was a loving son, father, and husband.He is survived by his wife, Gayle Phillips; His children: Brandee Phillips, Jamie Phillips, Devonna Powell, Denise Byrge, and Kayla Phillips; His parents, James and Curley Phillips. His sisters, Betty Pigg and Donna Phillips; His brothers, Jerry Phillips and John Phillips. 10 Grandchildren; He was preceded in death by his grandparents: John and Dollie Franklin, Washington Phillips, and Susie Metcalf.Visitation with the family will be Sunday evening from 5 until 8pm at Hazel Green Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Monday at 2pm at the funeral home with Bro. Frank Calder officiating. Burial will follow in New Sharon Cemetery.
