James Patrick Michaels

Mr. James Patrick Michaels of New Market passed away on Thursday. He was 81. He was a Christian and had been a member of the New Market United Methodist Church for more than 30 years. He had retired from Dunlop Tire and Rubber Company and earlier in life, he worked in the printing departments of The Chicago Tribune and The Chicago Sun Times.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Patsy June Boles Michaels; his grandson, Patrick Michaels. his parents, James Milan Michaels and Mae E. Lauer.

Surviving family members include his daughter, Debbie Johnson; his sons and daughters-in-law, David & Elaine Michaels and Danny & Clarissa Michaels; his grandchildren: James Johnson, Kathy Michaels, Kelly Michaels, Katie Michaels, Anna Michaels, and Stephen Michaels; his great-grandchildren: Makayla Johnson, Shea Murray, Aiden Murray, and Mia Murray.

The family will receive friends on Sunday evening from 3pm until 6pm at Hazel Green Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Monday at 11am at the funeral home with Pastor Samuel R. Wilson officiating. Burial will follow at Miller Cemetery in the Plevna Community.

Pallbearers will be Larry Boles, Aiden Murray, Scott Murray, Carter Hall, Shawn Hall, Nick Myers and Doug Wheatley.
