James C Knutson

James C. Knutson was born in Ellington, South Dakota to Albert and Selma Knutson.  He had 15 brothers and sisters and is survived by: two brothers: Gary and Jr.; and two sisters: Mable and Gayle.

He served in the Marines from 1951-1954.  He married Audrey Symanowski on October 9, 1951.  They remained married until her death on July 28, 2019.  They had 4 children: Larry, Gwen, Kurt (wife Charlotte), and Tracy (husband Jack), 9  grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild.  They moved from North Dakota to Alabama in 1963.  He worked for Meadow Gold Dairies, then Colonial Bakeries.  After he retired, he started a hay business.  He enjoyed working out in the hay field, raising exotic animals, and loved his longhorn cattle.

Funeral Services will be conducted Thursday, January 7, 2021, 2:00 P.M. at Hazel Green Funeral Home Chapel.  Burial will follow at Golightly Cemetery.
