James Burdette, age 9, of Huntsville, Alabama, passed away on March 11, 2026. James was born on June 6, 2016. Though his time here was far too short, he filled the lives of everyone around him with joy, laughter, and love.
James was a bright and energetic child who loved playing outside and exploring the world around him. He especially loved playing Minecraft and spending time having fun with family and friends. James was known for his happy spirit, his funny personality, and his kind heart that touched so many people.
He attended Tanner Elementary School, where he brought smiles to classmates and teachers with his playful energy and warm personality.
James is survived by his loving parents, Geno Burdette and Danielle Anderson; his siblings, Ivy Burdette, Zane Burdette, Jacob Naive and Sophia Burdette ;his grandfather, Sonny Anderson; his grandmother, Terrayln Wamser; and his grandparents, Deborah and Steve Cagle.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Carl Eugene Burdette Sr., and his grandmother, Rhonda Sharon Hicklen.
James will always be remembered for the happiness he brought to others and the love he shared so freely. His memory will forever live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
The family will receive friends on Thursday beginning at 1pm at Hazel Green Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 3pm at the funeral home. Burial will follow at a later date to be determined. In lieu of flowers, please consider contributing below to help the family with necessary expenses.
Though he was only with us for a short time, James’s laughter, love, and bright spirit will remain in our hearts forever.
