Gus Baugh Jr.

Gus Baugh Jr., 79, of Huntsville, Alabama, passed away on March 26, 2026. He was born on May 31, 1946.

Gus was known for his meticulous nature—perhaps to the extreme for some—and took great pride in keeping things in perfect order. He loved reading books and staying informed on current events. He was especially fond of his pickup trucks, keeping them spotless and well cared for. Gus was always willing to lend a helping hand and would assist anyone in need. He lived life by routine, was set in his ways, and never passed up the chance to enjoy a good conversation with anyone willing to listen.

Gus is survived by his wife Violet Baugh; stepdaughter, Sandra Lee (Johnny) Vaughn; grandchildren, Brandy LeeAnn (Casey Warner) Teague and Jessica Kristy (Kyle) Edwards; and great-grandchildren, KayLee Faye Browning, Kenzie LeeAnn Browning, Kiera Anne Teague, and Houston Everett Teague, along with numerous friends and extended family members.

He was preceded in death by his parents, multiple siblings, and extended family.

The family will receive friends at Hazel Green Funeral Home on Sunday, March 29, 2026, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, with funeral services beginning at 2:00 PM. Interment will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, 3727 CR 378, Dutton, Alabama, on Monday, March 30, 2026.
