Gerald “Gerry” Bruce Rosenkrans, 81, of New Market, AL, passed away peacefully on May 9th 2026, leaving behind a legacy of devotion, service, and quiet strength. Born on April 27, 1945, Gerald lived a life marked by commitment; to his country, his family, and the simple joys that brought him happiness.

Gerald proudly served in both the United States Navy and the United States Army, demonstrating a deep sense of duty and patriotism. Following his military service, he devoted himself to building a life centered on family and hard work.

He shared 57 loving years of marriage with his wife, Eileen, whose partnership and companionship were the cornerstone of his life. Together, they raised three children: Scott Rosenkrans (Emily), Mark Rosenkrans, and Heather White (Rodney). Gerald was a proud grandfather to Patrece, Robert (Emily), MacKenzie, and Elijah, and great grandfather to Robert Tate, each of whom brought him immense joy.

Known for his curious mind and steady hands, Gerald was an avid reader who rarely passed up a good book, a dedicated puzzle solver who enjoyed a challenge, and a skilled handyman who could fix just about anything. He found satisfaction in quiet moments, thoughtful work, and time spent with those he loved.

Gerald will be remembered for his reliability, his quiet wisdom, and the love he gave so freely to his family.

Visitation will be held on Friday, May 15 at Hazel Green Funeral Home from 9:30AM to 10:30AM. A Graveside Service will follow at Concord Cemetery at 11:00AM.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association in his memory.
