Gary “Loverboy” Wilbourn, 58, of New Market, passed away on Monday.

Gary had a lifelong love for music, beginning in his younger years as a DJ and playing in air bands as a teenager at Carousel Skate Rink. His favorite band was Loverboy, and that passion for music stayed with him throughout his life. He was a devoted and hardworking family man who spent over 20 years as a local truck driver.

Gary had a special appreciation for Pontiac Trans Ams and enjoyed watching tag team wrestling, especially The Midnight Express with Bobby Eaton. Above all, he loved his family deeply—his children, his wife, and all those closest to him. In his final days, he looked forward with great joy to the arrival of his first grandchild, his grandson Easton, and was proud to soon become a “Papa.” He will be dearly missed and forever loved by his wife and children.

He was preceded in death by his parents, JB and Lucille Webb.

He is survived by his wife of nearly 32 years, Leslie Edwards Wilbourn; his children, Amber (Chris) King, Chase (Autumn) Wilbourn, Jaden (Angel) Wilbourn, and Aden (Sawyer) Wilbourn; and two children he raised as his own, Kara (Zakk) McPeters and Tommie (Bri) Jenkins. He is also survived by his grandson, Easton Wilbourn.

The family will receive friends on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Hazel Green Funeral Home, with funeral services to follow at 1:00 p.m. Burial will be in Cochran Cemetery in New Market.

Hazel Green Funeral Home is honored to serve the family.
