Mr. Farris L. Mitchell, 74, of Fayetteville, passed away on Sunday. Mr. Mitchell was born in and originally from Chattanooga.
He served in the United States Air Force and then worked in the roofing construction industry. He was a Christian and had been a part of an all-denominational church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Farris & Nina Mitchell; 3 sisters, Laura Pauline Shaw, Ruth Hackney, and Joyce Webb; 2 brothers, Joe Mackey, and James Mackey.
Surviving family members include his sister, Bettye Scott and her husband, Levoyd Scott, his brother, Tom Mackey, his nephews, Joel & Jacob Gann, James Simon, and his niece, Mary Clark. He is also survived by several other nieces and nephews.
A graveside service with military honors will be held on Thursday, August 31st, 2017 at 11am at Chattanooga National Cemetery with Rev. David Simon Carr and Rev. Chad Jolly officiating.
