Ernest Calvin Moyers

Ernest Calvin Moyers, 83, of Meridianville, Alabama, passed away May 18, 2025. He was born on February 18, 1942 in Huntsville, Alabama to the late Ernest and Emma Moyers.
He was born and raised in Madison County and graduated from Huntsville High School. Following graduation, Mr. Moyers enlisted in the United States Navy. He served aboard the USS Shangri-La as the ship’s weatherman—a role he loved and often recalled as his favorite part of Navy life.
Following his service, Mr. Moyers returned home and began his career with the United States Postal Service. In the beginning of his postal career, he delivered mail on foot throughout downtown Huntsville.
Mr. Moyers was a huge fan of WWE wrestling, the Atlanta Braves, and Alabama Crimson Tide football.
Ernest is survived by daughter-in-law, Misty Moyers; grandson Cody Moyers, granddaughters Karissa Moyers and Ainslie Moyers; great grandchildren Waylon Moyers, Nolan Moyers, Piper Moyers, Natalie Moyers.
In addition to his parents, Ernest was preceded in death by his wife, Dortha Moyers, sons, Robert Moyers and Greg Moyers.
Graveside Services will be held Tuesday, May 20, 2025 at 10:00 AM at Taylor Cemetery.
