Erica Nicole Myers

Erica Nicole Myers of New Market, Alabama passed away on Thursday. She was 42.

Erica loved spending time with her family, especially her children and grandchildren. Nearly every weekend she would call and ask for the kids to come over, wanting nothing more than to be together. She was proud to be a grandmother and cherished that role deeply.

She was known for being outspoken and honest, never afraid to share her opinions. Erica had a strong presence and could easily command a room. She was one of a kind, spunky, and had a way of lifting others up even during difficult times.

Erica was brave and strong-willed. After a serious car accident, she continued to fight through many challenges and never gave up. She stood firm in her beliefs and faced life with determination until the end.

She was preceded in death by her cousin, Samantha Taylor; her grandparents, Tony “Papaw” Myers and Mickey “Mawmaw” Myers; and her aunt, Belinda.

She is survived by her husband, Chris Strickland; her daughter, Gracie Raines; her son-in-law, Jackson Delongchamp; her son, Jason Daigle; her daughter-in-law, Kamryn Mills; her grandchildren, Ivory Delongchamp and Everly Burger; her mother, Nita CreQue; her adopted mother and aunt, Selina Kennamer; her adopted father and uncle, James Kennamer; her adopted brother and cousin, David Kennamer; her adopted sister and cousin, Seanna Kennamer; her brothers, Danny Ray CreQue and Randy CreQue; and her nephew, Brooks CreQue.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Thursday at 4pm at Hazel Green Funeral Home with Pastor Lon Ostrzycki officiating. The family will begin receiving friends an hour before the service.
