Ella Mae Prince

Ella Mae Stubbs Prince was born in Huntsville, Alabama on August 14, 1933, to James Clifford Stubbs and Katherine Louise Wies Stubbs. She was married to Lloyd Vann Prince on June 26, 1949. They were married for 60 years until his death on September 15, 2009. She was a devout Christian who returned to God August 17, 2025.

She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 sisters: Francis and Mary Etta; 6 brothers: Frank, James, Louis, Elmer, William and Clifford; and 2 sons: Kenneth Wyatt Prince and Steven Lloyd Prince.

Ella Mae is survived by 1 brother: Alfred; 3 children: Ronald Vann Prince, Linda Kay Carter and Theresa Alyce Shepard; 9 grandchildren: Daphne Press, Shannon Little, Erin Prince, Molly Prince, Kate Neely, John Harris, Selena Preston, Ashley Thompson and Josh Briscoe; and 19 great grandchildren: Vann Fortson, Conor Neely, Hunter Maples, Fiona Neely, Finnegan Neely, Deaglan Neely, Ronan Neely, Brooks Harris, Wade Harris, Tucker Harris, Austin Preston, Briley Preston, Ella Mae Thompson, Farley Thompson, Margaret Thompson, Hattie Thompson, Wyatt Thompson, River Briscoe and Macy Briscoe.

Ella Mae enjoyed studying her bible and raised her children in a Christian home. She also found pleasure in painting by number, reading and listening to opera music and was famous for her homemade biscuits. In her 50’s she obtained a contractor’s license and began building houses. She was a strong, interesting, feisty woman who loved her family.

A memorial service will be held at Bethlehem Baptist Church, 1936 Elkwood Section Road in Hazel Green Alabama on Sunday, August 24, 2025 at 1pm. Senior Pastor Lon Ostrzycki will be officiating.
