Mrs. Dorothy "Dot" Clark, 88, of Ardmore, passed away on Tuesday at her home surrounded by her family. Mrs. Clark was a Christian and a member of Stateline United Methodist Church. After raising her nine children and fifteen grandchildren, she started and co-owned Ardmore Tax Service for 20+ years. She was a trustee and treasurer of the Stateline Cemetery for more than 50 years and in recent years, she provided loving care for her husband, Jessie Clark, while he was ill.
Mrs. Clark was preceded in death by her husband, Jessie N. Clark, her parents, William Arch and Flossie Cothren, by her son, Garry Clark, by her daughter-in-law, Joyce Ann Clark, and by several brothers and sisters.
She is survived by 80 immediate family members including her children, Kenneth (Gayle) Clark, Lonnie Clark, Joe (Judy) Clark, Roy (Malynn) Clark, Barbara (James) Gurley, Doris (Doyle) Peoples, Rodger (Sharon) Clark, and MIchael (Mona) Clark; She is also survived by her daughter-in-law, Joyce Jean Clark, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and a host of church family members.
The family will receive friends on Friday from 5:30 until 8:30pm at Hazel Green Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Saturday at 11am at the Genesis (Stateline) United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in the Stateline Cemetery.
