Ms. Deloris Annette Payne “Momma Dee,” of Belfast, Tennessee, entered into rest on May 18, 2026.

Deloris was born on January 21, 1941, to the late Richard and Icie Moore. She retired from Cosmolab after 27 years. She was an avid reader and enjoyed crossword puzzles. She could often be found in her favorite chair watching the hummingbirds on her feeder. She had a great sense of humor and was funny even when she was not trying to be. Ms. Payne attended First Baptist Church of Petersburg, where she often sang specials with her beautiful voice. Most of all, she will be remembered for her love and devotion to her family, especially her grandbabies.

In addition to her parents, Ms. Payne is preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Chad Payne.

Surviving family includes her children, Karen (Desi) and Kevin (Michelle) Payne; her grandchildren, Shane, Scott, DeEtta, Des, and Megan; great-grandchildren, Aisha, Storm, Irisa, Laine, Landon, Levi, and Aiden; her great-great-grandchildren, Skylynn and Easton; and her siblings, Daniel (Diane) Moore and Virginia “Boots” Cavender. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, family members, and friends.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 21, from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Hazel Green Funeral Home. The funeral service will be on Friday, May 22, at 1 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Tom Oakley and Pastor Chester Slaton officiating. Burial will follow in Charity Cemetery.
