Deborah Jean Bogema, of Meridianville, Alabama, passed away on January 13, 2026.
She was a devoted wife for 50 years to her husband, James Bogema, and a wife, mother, and grandmother whose family was the center of her life. She was the proud mother of her daughter, Jennifer Lynn Bogema, and her son, Lee Garrett Bogema, and grandmother to her grandson, Cameron James Bogema, and granddaughter, Riley Crimson Bogema-Lawler.
She fought a long, hard 6½-year battle with ovarian cancer with remarkable strength and determination. It was often a tough pill to swallow, but she faced it with resilience and grit. Stubborn in her convictions, she stood firmly by what she believed in, while always trying to appease and care for those around her.
She loved crafting, baking, and cooking, and found joy in creating things for others. An avid traveler, she had been all over the world, embracing new places and experiences. She adored her dog and took pride in being neat, meticulous, and attentive to every detail. Her mind was as sharp as a tack—she remembered everything.
She will be deeply missed and forever remembered for her strength, dedication, and love.
A celebration of life will be held on February 6th, which would have been her 73rd birthday, at Grace Lutheran Church at 10:30 a.m.
Hazel Green Funeral Home is honored to have served the family. (obituary provided by family)
