Dawn Marie Smith

Dawn Marie Smith of Hazel Green passed away on Saturday evening. She was 59.

Dawn dedicated her life to her children and grandchildren, loving them fiercely and wholeheartedly. Known for her stubborn streak and playful sense of humor, she always found a way to make life fun. Being a grandma was her proudest and happiest role.

Surviving family members include her husband, Daniel Smith; her daughter and son-in-law, Brandi and Chris Mattimore; her son and daughter-in-law, Matthew and Crystal Canada; her daughter and son-in-law, Bree and Lupe Matta; her son and daughter-in-law, Tyler and Jessica Sanchez; and her siblings, Chris and Kathy Welch of Virginia, Kimberly Marchese Morris of Pennsylvania, and Michael Marchese of Pennsylvania.

She is also survived by her stepdaughter, Marena Lowery; and her grandchildren, London Mattimore, Boston Mattimore, Abygail Canada, Bryson Canada, Colt Canada, Aubree Burkholder, Antonio Rodriguez, Gideon Mata, Ashton Sanchez, Ivie Sanchez, and Evie Sanchez.

Dawn was preceded in death by her mother, Shirley A. Worth; her father, Michael Marchese; and her daughter, Danielle Canada.

The family is planning a Celebration of Life to be held on March 7, 2026 at 3pm at 12037 Chicamauga Trail;  Huntsville, AL  35803.
